Strategy
-> Needs high single target magic Burst-Damage. Don’t turn on Auto, save the activatable abilities and use them when the Lord of the Caves emerges from the ground!
Once the Lord of the Caves is up, you wait a second for your Heroes to cast once their skills, then you release Ultimates with freeze animation ( Activate one Ultimate, and you continue activating the rest (every half second) without letting the screen turn white again. This way Ultimates keep working while you are casting the rest, any you can gain up to 2 seconds of additional charging.) sequence.

The best way to kill the Lord of the Caves in the Outland Portal, is by using the Soul Hunter. Wait till you have all your Ultimates ready, activate the other 4 and use the Soul Hunter Ultimate to finish him off, when he got around 50% Hp. It’s an instant kill but sadly only works till Difficulty 4.

    My team dies before there ultimates get charged, they are all max level max skill for my team, level 56. It’s the Dot attack that kills tgem

    I’m using the following team: Phoenix, Necromancer, Death Mage, Machinist, Deathknight. Consistently over 4 attempts I got him down to just the faintest sliver of HP.

    I then placed 5 additional skill points into the Machinist’s Overcharge ability. This should give me the additional damage I need to finish him off.

    After that, I made another 4 attempts, during which I could not drop him below 10%.

    All of the above attempts were handled exactly the same. Save energy until he uses his second poison attack at which point I unload everything on him. The actual damage volley is triggered using auto-attack (so attacks are consistent each fight) when he is underground. This causes all abilities to fire the instant he rises.

    The ONLY way this make sense is if he is somehow scaled with team strength thrown at him.

      You tested four times, and the random number generator didn’t work the way you wanted? I don’t think you would be fun to be with in Las Vegas. 🙂
